An established company in the Transport and Logistics sector is looking to appoint a strong and experienced Finance Director. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with strong operational experience. Logistics and Transport background will be advantageous.

QualificationsDegree in Accounting and ideally Chartered Accountant or relevant professional qualification
SoftwarePastel Evolution / MS Office
Knowledge OfTransport and Logistics industry advantageous
Skills ToCommunicate effectively with all levels of staff and work both strategically and operationally
Ability ToMeet deadlines in a corporate environment
Requirements
  • Preparing the initial budget and projections for the business;
  • Control of the accounting function, including preparation of annual financial statements
  • Financial planning, formulating financial targets and budgets in accordance with the company strategy
  • Oversight of the company’s internal control systems, including overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding the company’s financial affairs, in particular attending to all company secretarial duties
  • Accountable for monthly management reports including variance analysis and recommending corrective actions
  • Tax planning, and ensuring that all tax affairs are attended to efficiently and effectively
