Company description
This is a Centre that offers library facilities to blind people. The library holds various titles in Braille, Audio Cassettes, CDs and Large Print. It also has a fully automated Braille Press that produces Braille material for all the Visually Impaired schools resource rooms. The DDBL also runs a rehabilitation unit charged with the training of the blind in mobility and orientation, daily living skills and basic computer studies. Dorothy Duncan Library has sent over 2 000 000 Braille books to the blind students in the 25 years they have been in existence. Recently they have embarked on the training on organisations dealing with Visually impaired people to be able to produce Braille their own books limiting the amount and time the DDBL spends on the book production to concentrate on rehabilitation and production of other essential Braille material for the blind.
