Our client is a fast-growing explosives & accessories manufacturer and supplier to the mining and construction industries within Zimbabwe and the region. They seek to appoint a Quality Control and Quality Assurance Manager for their plant based in the Midlands. 

The role:

They seek a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control and Quality Assurance Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the explosives and/or emulsifiers manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on quality management systems and regulatory compliance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control and quality assurance systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the entire quality control process, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous quality enhancement.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor quality control staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains at the forefront of quality management practices. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality control and quality assurance within the explosives and/or emulsifiers manufacturing industry,3 years of which should be at supervisory level.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
